Autumn is in the air. The first leaves are starting to crisp up, Hydrangea are turning a glorious rusty red-pink and acorns are beginning to fall. To celebrate the season’s floral beauty, we’re running 3 flower arranging workshops in South East London and hope you’ll come along to join us!
On the morning of October 3rd, we have our ‘Camberwell Beauty’ Workshop upstairs at the Crooked Well Pub in Grove Lane, SE5 (an easy walk from Denmark Hill station). When we first designed our signature Camberwell Beauty handtied bouquet a couple of years ago, we had no idea how popular it would be. It’s our most sought after design and customers just love the unusual colour combination and contrasting textures, which are inspired by the Camberwell Beauty butterfly discovered in Coldharbour Lane in Camberwell in 1748. Well folks, we’re happy to share the secrets of how we make this stunner at our workshop so come along and give it a go. Using a gorgeous selection of late summer and early Autumn blooms, we’ll show you how to hand-tie your materials to achieve a beautiful bouquet to take home, sharing tips we’ve learned over years of experience along the way. We’ll also show you how to care for and condition your flowers for longer vase life.
If you’re looking for an everlasting display, why not try our Dried Floral Hanging Hoop Workshop upstairs at The Signal Pub in Forest Hill, SE23, on the evening of October 28th? It’s just a hop across the road from Forest Hill station on the Southern and London Overground routes, so easy to reach from across London. Dried flowers are having something of a major resurgence in the world of floristry, fashion and interiors but forget displays of the past in granny’s loo, we’ll show you how to bring them right up to date with this spectacular hoop design. Using both wiring and gluing techniques, you will design and create your own piece to take home and enjoy. The best part is that it will last forever!
Or if you just want to revel in the very best of the season’s bounty, join us at our Autumn Bliss Workshop in the function room at The Lordship Pub in Dulwich, SE22, easily accessible from North and East Dulwich stations. Another evening workshop for all you hard workers looking to let your hair down and get creative after a long day. We’ll show you how to create your own beautiful table display using eco ‘foam free’ techniques. Think rich reds, beautiful bronzes, chestnut browns, burnt oranges, and a host of amazing textures to play with, including seasonal berries, unusual foliages and on trend dried materials. All the beauty of Autumn’s splendour without the mud and wellies!
Our workshops are tailored for all levels – those with some experience and complete beginners. Even if you’ve never snipped a stem before, we will help you find your inner florist. All materials and equipment are provided as are light refreshments at the start of workshops (further refreshments and meals can be purchased at the venues if required). Why not bring a friend and get a discount on your ticket price! We promise 2 hours of relaxed fun, creativity and jaw dropping beauty so come along and get inspired this Autumn.
Christmas Workshops with Pesh Flowers
However much we fight it, it always seems to be the lead-up to Christmas, right?! Well we don’t mind that one bit here at Pesh as it means we can get excited about our absolute favourite foliage time of the year (yeah yeah, I know we’ve said that about Spring, Summer and Autumn before but this one really is our favourite…honest!) Christmas is all about foliage. Not just blue pine – which any self-respecting Christmas arrangement will include of course – but also Eucalyptus, Cypressus, berried Ivy, Holly, Acacia, Ilex… the list goes on. Come and explore the beautiful foliages available at this time of year in our Natural Christmas Door Wreath Workshop on the morning of Saturday 7th December, or our Christmas Swag Workshop on the evening of Thursday 12th December. Both are being held at the Stag and Bow Haberdashery shop in Forest Hill, SE23, an absolute creative haven sitting a couple of minutes walk from Forest Hill station on the Southern and London Overground routes, so easy to reach from across London.
Festive treats and refreshments await you on arrival, as do the scents and sounds of Christmas, from dried fruits and cinnamon to Christmas tunes to get us on our way (cheesy or not – it’s up to you!) At our Natural Christmas Door Wreath Workshop, we’ll show you how to make your own wreath from scratch using the most wonderful selection of winter foliage, before adding embellishments such as pine cones, dried cinnamon and fruits
We’ll work on a traditional moss base which is not only much more environmentally friendly than using a floral foam ring, but will also ensure that your wreath will last throughout the festive period. Each wreath will be totally unique and that’s the beauty of this workshop – it’s your chance to get creative and put your own twist on a Christmas class. Or if you want your door to stand out from the crowd and you fancy something a little different, come and join us at our Christmas Swag Workshop. Using more amazing Winter foliage along with berries, fruits, cones and sumptuous ribbons, we’ll show you how to create your own natural, romantic loose teardrop shape door swag.
Whichever workshop you choose, we promise your door will have the best curb appeal on your street this Christmas! Our Christmas workshops always sell out quickly so please book early to avoid disappointment. Come along on your own or share a fun-filled Christmassy experience with friends or family!
